This is my version of a flame stitch, inspired by vintage missoni, fall leaves, and bargello needlepoint books from the 1970s. It is called Fox Paws because it has these little interlocking feet in the pattern. This style of knitting creates wavy stripes without the need for floats or traditional color-work techniques. You can see that the back doesn’t have any weird stuff going on.
I’m really proud of this sample, it took 2 tries because I turned out to be allergic to the first yarn.
This pattern is due for release next Tuesday , the 9th. It is a relative of the petal cowl and builds on the skills and stitches introduced in that pattern.
